Why Choose Dance Du Coeur?

WHY CHOOSE DANCE DU COEUR?
Those that have never experienced our classes, instructors, and studio first-hand often ask “Why should I choose Dance Du Coeur for my dancer?”. Not all studios are created equal. We’ve raised the bar in many different ways and customers notice. Here are just a dozen reasons why you’ll love and appreciate your experience at Dance Du Coeur Sugar Land Dance Studio.

1. TOP TEACHERS AND MOTIVATORS
Many of our teachers have been or still are working dance professionals and almost all have college dance degrees as well. Be assured that you are getting instruction from qualified teachers who are dedicated to dance and love teaching kids of all ages. We also encourage growth through positive reinforcement. Our teachers exercise discipline in the studio while bringing a creative and progressive approach to dance instruction. Our teachers are not only selected for their backgrounds and expertise, but for their personal integrity. They are not just teachers, they are mentors and we recognize that. Their choices of music and choreography are tasteful and appropriate and their teaching styles are positive, respectful, and encouraging. Our teachers are also approachable and open minded.

2. VARIETY OF CLASSES OFFERED YEAR ROUND
With four state of the art, sprung wood dance floors, we offer a variety of classes and levels. Choose from dance classes in Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Modern, Lyrical, Leaps and Turns, Aerial Silks, Acro Dance, and African Dance. For our younger students, we offer Creative Movement Classes in Baby Ballet for ages 2.5-3 years, Pre Ballet and Intro to Tap for ages 3-4, and Ballet/Tap, Ballet/Jazz, Ballet/Lyrical and Intro to Hip Hop for ages 5-6. Our “Mommy and Me” is for children 18 – 30 months.

3. DANCE CLASSES FOR ALL AGES
Dance Du Coeur Sugar Land Dance Studio is one of the few studios that offers classes to dancers of ALL ages! Our students start as young as 18 months old in Mommy & Me and can take an introductory ballet class at age 2. For teens or older kids who want to dance but are new to the art, we offer beginner classes just for you! And for adults who used to dance and want to get back into it, we have Adult Ballet, and Tap.

4. QUALITY INSTRUCTION
Our instructors teach their classes according to a set curriculum with a goal for each child to achieve specific skills by the end of the year. One reason we have just one recital a year is so that students get ample time learning the necessary skills to move to the next level. If they aren’t ready to move to the next level at the end of the year, your child’s teacher will be able to explain why and what is needed to get there. While some studios assess students subjectively, we evaluate our students based on how well they met a set of criteria by the end of the year and how quickly/easily they progressed. Teachers fill out evaluations for each student in level 1 classes and above at the end of the Spring season which include recommendations for their next class level. Also, we limit the size of each class so that each student receives adequate, individual attention. The Baby Ballet, Pre Ballet, Ballet/Tap and Ballet/Jazz classes are limited to 12 students. Many of these classes have an assigned assistant in the studio to help the teacher.

5. CLEAN, COMFORTABLE, AND WARM ENVIRONMENT
Dance Du Coeur is just under 10,000 square feet of studio space. With four large dance studios, high ceilings and modern amenities, we designed it for your comfort and to inspire dance. Our staff and teachers are friendly, warm, and are always happy to see you! You will feel at home here. With wide hallways and plenty of seating area, you can observe class through our viewing windows or just work on your laptop (we have free wi fi!) without feeling cramped. We also have cubbies for students to keep their clothes and bags. Our professional cleaning service keeps the bathrooms and halls nice and clean. For company members or students who spend extended hours at the studio, we have a refrigerator to store food and a microwave to heat up meals. We even have a healthy vending machine. No junk food here – just coffees, healthy drinks and more wholesome snacks. For those who need a meal while waiting, Pepperoni’s is downstairs and they serve pizza, salads, and sandwiches.

6. FREE TRIAL CLASSES AND MAKE-UPS
Aren’t sure about what style or level to take? Try any class for free! You can even try out our different teachers to see which one suits you best. Missed class because you were sick or not able to make it to the studio? You can make it up any time by coming to another class at your same level.

7. SPECIAL EVENTS AND PROGRAMS
We want our students to have a positive, fun, and rewarding experience at Dance Du Coeur – even when they aren’t in class! Many of our students view the studio as a “second home”, where they build friendships and make special memories. Throughout the year, we offer special fun weeks such as “Tutu” Week and “Halloween” week when students get to dress up for class. We have parent observation week twice a year, in the Fall and Spring, when parents can come into the studio to watch their child’s class.

8. End of the Year Recital
Our yearly recital is a class act you will be proud to invite your family and friends to attend! Held at the Stafford Center, the recital is divided into three shows to keep it at a reasonable length.

9. ONE BEAT COMPETITION TEAM
In just three years on the competitive circuit, our “One Beat” team has become the “one to beat” in the Houston area. We hire top choreographers from across the country to create the most current and interesting pieces possible. Our professional directors are masters at shaping and executing the dances to reflect the choreographers’ visions and know exactly what it takes perfect each routine. Not only that, they model professionalism, grace, leadership, commitment, and integrity for their dancers. They expect the same in return – and they get it!
Besides their school teachers and parents, our directors spend more time with the dancers than most other adults in their lives and these role models are providing precisely the foundation they will need to excel not just in dance, but in life. One Beat is more than a team, it’s a strong group of dancers and life long friends who encourage each other to be their best even as they compete against each other in competitions. They truly understand that their is no “i” in team. As a perk, One Beat members are permitted to use the studios for private lessons or practice at no charge, as long is they reserve it ahead of time. They also may take any class offered at the studio as they pay a flat, monthly fee that includes unlimited classes.
