Christa began dancing at the age of 4. She trained in ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip hop and African in New York City at various dance studios including Alvin Ailey Summer Program and DeVore Dance School. It was here where she learned Horton, Graham, and Dunham techniques which are the influential styles in her choreography.

Christa minored in dance at Hampton University and was a member of the Majestic Dance Troupe &and founding member of the Lady Oracle dance group. Working with Oracle provided the opportunity for Christa to participate in award winning performances throughout the Washington D.C. area, perform during Miami Heat games, and work with various artists including Jamie Jones, Blackstreet, Nas, and Justin Bieber. The Oracle success has evolved to worldwide recognition, appearing on America’s Best Dance Crew, and has produced other notable choreographers including Rob Rich and Fresh Redding.

Christa relocated to Houston 2013 and Dance Du Coer has been her first dance studio family here in Texas! Although she is trained in so many forms of dance, Christa specializes in hip hop, jazz, and early development ballet training here at our studio. She is so excited to also be starting our first African dance class! Christa loves watching her students improve, and enjoys sharing special “groove” moments with them during class.
