Company auditions Set for May 21 & June 12
Auditions for Dance Du Coeur’s Sugar Land competitive dance teams are scheduled for Saturday, May 21 and Sunday, June 12 at the studio.
In lieu of attending group auditions, dancers may submit a video of a solo performance or arrange for a private audition for $25. Cost for the group auditions is $10 per dancer.
Times are: 12:00-1:00 p.m. for ages 5-6
1:15-2:15 p.m. for ages 7-8
2:30-3:30 p.m. for ages 9-12
3:45-4:45 for ages 13 and up
Results will be emailed out within 3 weeks of the audition. For the audition, dancers should wear a leotard or dance top with lycra shorts or leggings. Hair should be in a pony tail or bun. Boys should wear black pants or shorts and a T-shirt. Jazz shoes or bare feet are fine. Dancers will be taught a contemporary and jazz combination to do across the floor. Both the parent and dancer will need to fill out a questionnaire as well.
If the dancer is accepted on company, they will need to pay a $750 non-refundable deposit within two weeks. Deposit is $250 for ages 5-6. The deposit will be applied to company dues in September. One Beat members are required to be available for choreography the entire month of August and Septembers (all weekends, including Labor Day) and possibly other dates as announced in October. Special situations will be considered by the Director. New One Beat members also have summer class requirements.
Company members have weekly class and rehearsal requirements which are strictly enforced. Monthly tuition for Company members is:
Minis (age 5-6) – $205
Petites (ages 7-9) – $315
Junior Competition – $375
Junior Convention – $395
Teen/Senior Competition- $265
Teen/Senior Convention – $375
