DDC to launch home school program for competitive dancers!
For the 2019-2020 year, we are offering a home school program to One Beat members between the ages of 10-14 as a way to complete school requirements during the morning hours through a professional organization in a comfortable, structured setting.
This allows students to complete homework during the day, freeing up most evenings to spend at home with family for a more balanced life!
Students in level 4-5 dance classes can also fulfill most dance requirements during the day. (See more below).
The Knile Center requires a minimum of seven students. Students need to supply their own laptop but other materials will be provided. Hours are 8 a.m.—12 p.m., M-F, in the Impact Lounge in Studio D. Monthly tuition is $300 (with a non refundable, $150 enrollment fee) and includes four one-hour, private tutoring sessions a month. Additional tutoring sessions are available for $40 an hour.
The Knile Center is also providing an afterschool program in the Impact Lounge for students who need help with their homework. All students have access to the Impact Lounge for homework but may also enroll in the Knile’s Educoach (ENC) program for tutoring. Membership in this program ranges from $200-$400 a month.
For more information on the Knile Center Homeschool or tutoring (ENC) programs at DDC, call (281) 761-6610 or email Betsy DeVega at bdevega@knilecenter.com. See Knilecenter.com too!
We are also incorporating pre-professional dance training for homeschooled students who are in level 4-5 dance classes! A minimum of 8 students is required and cost is $450 a month which includes three 1.5 hour ballet, two modern, two contemporary, and one Pilates class a week. The tuition also covers the Junior Technique, Jazz 5, and all rehearsal requirements for Junior and Teen One Beat members, plus any hip-hop class. Tap is an additional $25 a month. If chosen to be in a tap small group, add $35 a mo. for teens and $60 a mo. for juniors.
Students in the homeschool program may rent a studio for two hours a week (before 4 p.m. , M-F) at no charge as long as they reserve the space. Classes will be held M-F between 1-3:30 p.m.
Deadline for enrolling in the pre professional program is May 18 but will be extended to June 30 if we meet the 8-student requirement by May 18.
