Heartbeats Recital 2020 Preparations Begin

With the start of the new year, we begin preparations for the Heartbeats 2020 recital!  The big day is Saturday,  May 23, 2020 which is Memorial Day weekend and it will be held at  The Stafford Center, 10505 Cash Rd, Stafford, TX 77477.

Students will begin learning their recital dances in mid January to mid February.   Those not participating in recital will also learn and practice the choreography because this is an important skill set  for every dancer.  

For those participating in recital, it is critical to come to class each week!  Makeups are not as beneficial as in the Fall semester because each class will spend time rehearsing their own recital dance.  Please stress the importance to your child  of attending class regularly.  They will feel most confident on stage and enjoy the experience  more if they know the dance very well.

Costumes have been ordered and will be distributed in the next several weeks.  If  your child just signed up, they will be receiving their costumes a little later.  All students were measured and/or sized according to manufacture’s guidelines and the studio is not responsible for any alterations or exchanges.  An important information sheet will be attached to each costume with details about necessary tights to be purchased, hairstyle,  makeup, and shoes to be worn at dress rehearsal and recital. Parents will be required to “sign” for the costume when they receive them. Costumes should be stored  in their original bag and not worn prior to dress rehearsal. 

The studio will process the recital fee of $60 per student ($50 for siblings) on February 15, 2020 with the payment information on file.  Cash and check payments need to be made prior to that date.  Late fees of $25 will be assessed on March 1.

 Recital Tickets Sales begin April 18, 2020 at 9 a.m.!  Mark your calendars and set your alarm because seats are sold on a first come, first  serve basis!  Tickets are $12.00 each and must be purchased online at www.recitalticketing.com/24755/ .  We will send multiple reminders, so check your email!   Now is the time to check with family and friends so you can purchase seats together!  With four shows on Recital Day, be sure you know in which show your child is dancing.   Check your email or go to SugarLandDance.com and click on the Heartbeats 2020 tab to find out the show in which your child is dancing. 

Dress Rehearsal is important for both the dancers and teachers in ensuring a successful recital.  The dress rehearsal(s)  at the Stafford Centre will be the week of May 4-8 with specific dates released in early April.  Dancers will arrive in costume and makeup with hair done.   Individual photos will be taken , for purchase, at dress rehearsal.

We will be looking for volunteers at both dress rehearsal and recital to manage their class and keep all dancers focused and organized.   Volunteers can sign up at Parent Observation Week March 20-April 3 and we will select (or recruit!) volunteers for each  level 1 and under class.
