Prepare early for competition team auditions!
Auditions for our competition team, One Beat, are right after recital, on Sunday, May 28, and another date in June TBD.
Those who know they are interested, may get an early start by enrolling in technique driven classes this spring. Our directors can advise you on which ones will best help your child prepare.
The team has two levels, competition and convention, and five age groups: mini (5-6), petites (7-9), juniors (10-12), teens (13-15), and seniors (16 and up).
Monthly tuition ranges from $200-$400 a month, depending on age and level, and competition fees are $1300 (at a minimum) for two dances to be competed at five competitions.
Fees increase for each group dance beyond that.
One Beat members are required to take ballet, tap, contemporary, and jazz technique classes each week, along with two group rehearsals. The schedule varies each year but sample schedules can be provided for those who are interested in knowing what the commitment might look like.
For team-oriented students who are talented, serious, dedicated and excited about dance, belonging to One Beat Company means getting a chance to develop technique quickly and correctly through intense focus and practice. With that, their poise, sense of artistry, self confidence and self discipline will also grow.
