Dance Du Coeur Fitness Classes

CORE BALLET – Thursdays, 7-8 p.m, $75 for 5 classes, $140 for 10 classes

dance_summer2016_1Professional Dancers are marvels of strength and grace with long, lean limbs and strong torsos. To enjoy all the benefits of a toned, strong core, a dancer works smart, not just hard, focusing on core muscle strength for power, stability, balance and grace.

Science points to training hip, abdominal, pelvic and lower back muscles as key to good balance and stability. While core exercises tone the abs, they strengthen so much more than just the six pack.

Core Ballet is where classic ballet exercises meet science to tone the core, strengthen the lower back and abdominal musculature, improve stability (so you can create that graceful movement), promote balance, and reinforce correct posture. This classes uses the ballet barre and small weights, plus ballet technique, to tone and strengthen students. Wear form fitting athletic attire.

For ages 13 and up.

Taught by Kristen Edmunds.
