Dorena Battaglino
Dorena Battaglino trained in Broadway-style tap, jazz, and ballet as a child growing up in Plano.
While earning a Chemical Engineering degree, she choreographed several annual musicals.
She was active as an actor, improv artist, dancer, and choreographer in the San Francisco Bay Area.
While living in Scotland for three years, Dorena studied Scottish step dancing. She returned to Houston in 2015 and has taught tap throughout the area. She continues her professional development by taking classes regularly with tap masters at tap festivals and dancing with the Austin Tap Ensemble.
She holds certificates in Progressing Ballet Technique with Marie Walton-Mahon and Alixa Flexibility Level 1.
Dorena teaches tap on Tuesdays at DDC. She has subbed for the studio several times over the years, and we are happy to have her on the faculty!
