Dance du Couer sets COVID-19 Protocols for 2020-2021 Season

In an effort to protect students and teachers to the best of our ability in this pandemic, Dance Du Coeur has established the following protocols, which will remain in place until further notice.

Parents will need to sign a waiver as part of their Fall enrollment process to acknowledge they understand these protocols and that Dance Du Coeur is not liable for exposure to COVID 19.

  •   Parents will drop off their child at the front door and return after class or wait on the balcony for their child. Parents may bring a chair to watch through the windows (studio A and B only).
  •   Students will have their temperature checked and if they have a temperature above 100 degrees, they will not be permitted entry.
  •   Students will have their hands sanitized upon entering and will re-sanitize if and after using bathroom.
  •   Students must place dance bags along wall in studio in which they are taking class. Bring re-usable, labeled water bottles only, no disposable (in case someone mistakes it for their own).
  •   Students must take off street shoes and put on dance shoes in the studio.  Please do not wear dance shoes outside.
  •   Water fountains in the studio are closed except for personal water bottle re-fills.  The vending machine will remain open for use.
  •   We will not use studio props for Creative Movement classes.  Students in Pre-Ballet, Ballet/Tap, and Ballet/Jazz can bring their own props from the list provided OR dance without props. Dance props cannot be shared and must be stored in dance bag before and after use.
  •   Teachers and students ages 5 and above are required to wear masks inside the classroom.  Plenty of mask breaks will be offered.
  •   Students will be asked to dance apart from others, making every effort to stay six feet away from other dancers at all times.   Place markers will be used for younger dancers and “boxes” for older dancers (level 1 and up).
  • Upper level Class sizes are limited to the number of boxes per studio, unless otherwise disclosed. Studio C: 12, Studio B: 15, Studio A: 24. Creative Movement classes for children under age 7 are limited to 10 students.
  •   Classes will end a few minutes early to allow time for teachers to safely dismiss dancers and to wipe down surfaces before next class.
  •   Dancers in Studio C and A will exit the studio from the back door and walk around the balcony to the front.  Parents may meet them at the back door.
  •    Dancers in Studio B will exit out the Studio B door onto the front balcony.
  •    The studios will be sprayed down weekly by a professional disinfecting company and all surfaces will be wiped down at regular intervals throughout the day.
  •    In the event that the studio must close due to COVID-19 (or other) outbreak, all classes will continue virtually through Zoom.  A meeting ID will be provided through your online DDC account.
  •    If it comes to our attention that a DDC student or teacher has tested positive for COVID-19, the entire studio will be disinfected using a professional cleaning company.  No classes will be canceled UNLESS the studio cannot be disinfected prior to our first class of the day.  Per our privacy policy, we will not be disclosing the identity of anyone who has tested positive for COVID-19.  However, you will be notified if your student is or has been at risk of possible exposure, and you will have the option to continue taking classes virtually.
