The team will be led by two special talents, each with their own unique experience and strengths.

About the hip hop teachers

Jesus Acosta, as a former judge on the Contemporary/Lyrical Panel for The Dance Worlds, has a unique understanding of the inner workings of All Star events. He has been working in the dance industry for 19 years teaching, choreographing, and judging all over the United States.

Kevin Caneda

(Kevin Caneda)

Kevin Caneda is a member and staff member of Soreal Dance Studio. His team won first place in the World of Dance Houston in 2019. He is currently a mentee of renowned choreographer Andrew Baterina, formerly on America’s Best Dance Crew. Kevin was a founding member and team captain of Riot Squad, the first youth team of Soundbox Studios from 2011-2014. Riot Squad won first place at the World of Dance Dallas in 2012 and 2013 and first place at World of Dance Houston in 2013 and 2014. He was also Dance Director for the UTSA Filipino Student Association from 2014 and 2018.

“Between Kevin’s knowledge of hip hop and my knowledge as a previous World’s Judge in the All-Star arena, I think we will make magic,” says Acosta.

The team will rehearse Thursdays from 7:45-9:15 p.m. and select Saturdays. Costs will be determined based on the number of participants.
